The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer and is composed of 5 decades. While praying the Rosary, we focus on the Mysteries that center around the important events of Christ's life. There are four sets of Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous. The repetition encounterd when praying each decade of the Rosary is meant to lead one into a restful and contemplative state to reflect on each Mystery.
The Joyful Mysteries
(Traditionally prayed on Mondays, Saturdays, and, during the season of Advent, on Sundays)
The Sorrowful Mysteries
(Tradionally prayed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and, during the season of Lent, on Sundays)
